Every summer, thousands of seasonal workers come to Mackinac Island. They arrive from all over the world—some wide-eyed and excited, others nervous and alone. While they serve the island with long hours and bright smiles, many face homesickness, isolation, or culture shock far from everything familiar.

That’s where Mackinac Connect steps in.

We're a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the seasonal workforce with free weekly events and food, art nights, English as a second language classes, emotional support, and meaningful opportunities for connection. We believe that when workers feel safe, seen, and supported, they thrive—and so does the island.
